INTRODUCTION
The Web Data Administrator enables you to easily manage your SQL data, wherever you are. Using its built-in features, you can do the following from Internet Explorer or your favorite web browser:
  • Create and edit databases in Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or Microsoft SQL Data Engine (MSDE) 2000
  • Perform ad-hoc queries against databases and save them to your file system
  • Export and import database schema and data
Whether you are doing Windows or Web development, or just need remote access to data for yourself or your clients, the Web Data Administrator is the perfect complement to your toolbox.

In order to run the Web Data Administrator, you'll need:
  • Windows 2000 with Internet Information Server (IIS) 5.0 or later
  • Microsoft .NET Framework SDK Beta2
  • MDAC 2.7 or later (installed by default with the .NET Framework SDK)
  • Internet Explorer or other web browser
The Web Data Administrator will manage a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or Microsoft SQL Data Engine (MSDE) 2000 database server. Note that an instance of MSDE 2000 is installed by the .NET Framework SDK Samples installation and/or by Visual Studio .NET setup.

You may optionally view and compile the source code using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET Beta2. The source code is available in the \source directory under the location where the Web Data Administrator is installed (under \Inetpub\wwwroot).
